Brewster Academy Athletics

Matt Butcher arrived at Brewster in 2001, teaching English from 2001 to 2017 and serving as English Department Chair from 2007 to 2017. In 2006, Mr. Butcher received the Career Growth Award, and he earned the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2008. Now, as our Academic Dean, he leads the Teaching and Learning Team, supervises academic department chairs, oversees the delivery of Brewster’s academic program, and supports the academic progress of students.

Since 2002, Mr. Butcher has coached the Girls’ Varsity Soccer team. During his tenure, the team has had 15 league and six New England championships—and more than 251 wins. Coach Butcher holds a USSF national C license. In 2011 and 2016, he was selected as the NSCAA New Hampshire Prep School Coach of the Year; he also was selected as the NSCAA Regional Prep School Coach of the Year in 2011.
